Former Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao had informed the former President that Jayalalitha was under sedation when he visited her at the Apollo Hospital on October 1st, 2016 He wrote a letter to the President and apprised him of Jayalalitha’s health since her hospitalisation on September 22nd, 2016.
The Raj Bhavan issued a press release after the Governor’s visit stating that the doctors had briefed him about the treatment being given to Jayalalitha and that she was recovering well.He also informed the President that specialist doctors from AIIMS and Dr.Richard Beale had come down from UK for her treatment. He then directed the Chief Secretary to issue bulletins regularly as a lot of rumours were doing the rounds.
