No more gender bias here. The Tiruchengode Youth Club has formatted a novel jallikattu exclusively for women and children to be played on Pongal day.
The sport rules involve young women and girls blindfolding their eyes and a string is tied to one of their legs and the other end to the leg of a hen.Both are positioned inside a circle and the women have to catch the hen within a minute. This year lots of women and children happily played the game and took handsome prizes back home.
