The final day of Jaipur Literature Festival saw a panel comprising actress Manisha Koirala, writers Germaine Greer and Madhavi Menon, classical dancer Sonal Mansingh problematising female beauty and stereotypes surrounding it.
The indulgence in regard to beauty has grown “too much for outer appearance”, said Sonal Mansingh.
Youth today “feel they are not good enough”, opined Koirala. Koirala said that that the demand to look pretty and beautiful “is a huge burden for her” in her profession.
