Actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor welcomed their second child, a baby boy on February 21. This news was shared online by their close friend Manish Malhotra and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, a cousin of Kareena.
Saif and Kareena got married in the year 2012. The couple has a 4 year old son, Taimur. In August 2020, they announced that they were expecting a second child and thanked all their well wishers for their love and support.
Saif has two children from his first marriage to actor Amrita Singh, a daughter Sara Ali Khan and a son, Ibrahim Ali Khan. While speaking on the issue of paternity leave to Elle magazine, Saif stated “Who wants to work when you have a newborn at home! If you don’t see your children growing up, you’re making a mistake. And I can take time off from work- it’s a privileged position. Rather than follow a 9-5 routine, I live like an actor. Your dharna and approach to everything are based on your career.”
Earlier, Kareena had shared her thoughts on pregnancy in an interview where she stated that she wanted to work during pregnancy and post-delivery as the more active the mother is, the healthier the baby and the happier the mother. She said that women should try to balance time looking after the child as well as taking care of work and of oneself. She said that she felt proud of being a working mother.
