The Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission ordered a police inspector to pay a compensation of Rs 10,000/ to an elderly woman. The woman went to the station to enquire about the complaint lodged by her when the inspector slapped her.
The senior citizen M.Vasuki said that she filed a complaint in the Kasimedu police station in March 2017. As no action was taken on her complaint even after six months, she went to the station to enquire about the status of her complaint and met the Inspector Chidambara Bharathi. Instead of replying to her query, the Inspector began to threaten her and even went to the extent of slapping the old woman. The woman lodged a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission and it granted her compensation.
