Priya Serrao a 26 year old Indian woman living in Australia has won the prestigious Miss Universe Australia title for the year 2019. She faced stiff competition from 26 other contestants but managed to emerge as the clear winner. She will represent Australia in the Miss Universe competition to be held later this year. Priya is a law graduate who is currently employed in the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions in Melbourne.
Though she was born in India, her family migrated to the Middle East before settling down in Australia. Her win came as a surprise to her as it was the first contest she had entered. Both beauty pageants and modelling were new to her. She said that she just wanted to be a part of the experience. The second and third places in the contest went to Bella Kasimba of Western Australia and Marijana Radmanivic from Victoria.
