After Pop icon Rihanna and climate activist Greta Thunberg brought international spotlight on the ongoing protest by Indian farmers, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar joined the ‘India against propaganda’ drive and called for unity among the citizens of the country. They urged citizens to shift their focus to the efforts made by the Indian government and opined that external forces can be spectators and not participants. Tendulkar tweeted that” Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation.”
Spinner and ex-captain Anil Kumble expressed his solidarity with his former teammate. He tweeted” As the world’s largest democracy, India is more than capable of taking her internal issues to amicable solutions.” They were joined by India’s coach Ravi Shastri, Skipper Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. All of them posted tweets on the ‘India against Propaganda trend on social media.
Ravi Shastri tweeted that ” Agriculture is a very important part of the machinery of the Indian economic system and farmers are the backbone of any country’s ecosystem. This is an internal matter which I’m sure will be resolved through dialogue. Jai Hind.”
