Manda
Big Boss Fame ‘Mandana Karimi’ was the showstopper for Kolkata brand Studio AV by Gaurav & Nitesh at India Runway Week 2016 – Season 7 – DAY 1. Mandana Karimi was seen wearing dark olive green madhubani lehenga inspired from mithila / madhubani art. The art depicts the day to day life of a woman in the mithila region, made fully in colorful threads with jewelled embellished blouse along with a handloom benarasi dupatta.
‘Dhaage’ the collection theme is inspired by the beautiful journey of threads into a masterpiece. The entire collection is handmade in threads with a little bit of zardosi and dapka work to add some glitter. It consists of two different stories of thread-work embroideries– the soft and subtle Parsi embroidery and the colourful splash of threads in Madhubani embroidery.
Studio AV by Gaurav and Nitesh believes that this collection would help in reviving the dying tradition of Madhubani art and would provide them a good platform and more recognition. This is ‘The First Time’ in the fashion world history that Madhubani – in the form of embroidery, is being used in such a unique and big way by any designer.
The label ‘Studio AV’ speaks volumes about their design sensibility and thought process. The cheerful designs are perfect for the wedding season.
“It is a pleasure being a part of India Runway Week, Mandana Karimi looked perfect in the attire. The collection reveals every ounce of effort and love that has gone into creating something so special. Our designs are a perfect blend of the ethnicity of Indian wear – says the young designer Nitesh Sharaff.”
