CUBE is an invention by Sundar Raman P, Adil Mohammed, Shivam Maheshwari, Andrea Elizabeth Biju of the Indian Institute of Technology; Chennai. CUBE is a compact assistive device that fits into a smartphone port to help the blind self-navigate through space, recognise people and objects with the help of an additional camera, as well as type, learn & read Braille with tiny refreshable Braille cells.
The James Dyson Award runs in 27 countries and regions worldwide and provides a platform for students of the engineering/ product design/ industrial design verticals to develop problem-solving inventions that challenge convention and showcase them on a global stage every year.
