‘IBJA Cup’ (India Bullion & Jewellers Association) at the MC Dowell’s Derby Day held at RWITC, Mahalaxmi Racecourse
This Winter Season It was a beautiful Sunday for all horse racing enthusiasts, all the Mumbai’s elite were at the Mumbai turf Club for the Mega Event ‘IBJA Cup’ (India Bullion & Jewellers Association) and ‘The Mc Dowell’s Derby Day’. The Mahalaxmi Race course was packed to capacity with the who’s who in India, The celebrities ranged from Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan to Mr. Mohit Kamboj the President of IBJA (India Bullion Jewellers’s association) to Madhur Bajaj (Vice Chairman, Bajaj Auto), Vijay Mallya & Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and other celebrities like Claudia Ciesla, Kainat Arora, Avani Modi, Shawar & Marsela Ayesha Ali and a host of other celebrities from different industries.
Mr. Waahiid Ali Khan (CEO, Sshaawn Horses & Sports) said “in a thrilling finish, Desert God from Hyderabad won the The Kingfisher Ultra Indian Derby (Gr. I) and congratulated its owners S. Padmanabhan, his wife Sharmila and Jockey David Allen on the win. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vivek Jain (Chairman, RWITC) said “This season the turnout has been beyond expectations”
Speaking on the Occasion Mr. Mohit Kamboj the President of IBJA (India Bullion & Jewellers Association) who was the sponsor of IBJA TROPHY DIV.II (1,200m) and IBJA TROPHY DIV.I (1,200m) said “This is the first time that we at IBJA have sponsored the IBJA trophy in Derby Day and the experience is enthralling, I am overwhelmed with excitement and the thrill of horse racing at its best here. I look forward to be a part of the sponsors every year for such events.”
The Derby day was a great event, there was entertainment — music and dance — excellent food and drinks along with a lot of excitement.
