A hospital in Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh tied an elderly man to the hospital bed as he did not clear his medical bill. The photo of the old man lying down with his hands and legs tied to the bed went viral. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed the District Collector to conduct a probe into the incident.
Accordingly, a probe was conducted and a report was submitted. It was detected that inhuman treatment was meted out to a senior citizen as his family members did not have the money to pay for the hospital bill. The hospital was sealed and an FIR was registered at the local Kotwali Police Station. The Chief Minister gave an assurance that the guilty will not be spared and suitable action would be initiated against them.
