Holiday Inn Chennai OMR IT Expressway presented ‘Awake, Bake and Shake’, a Women’s Day Special Celebration on Tuesday, 5th March 2019.
Awake relates to an awakening session by the guest of honour Dr Sapna Nangia
Bake relates to the baking session by Pastry Head Chef Prabhu
Shake relates to the mixology session by Liquid Chef Sarthak Singh
Dr Sapna Nangia, Senior Consultant and Academic Coordinator from Apollo PROTON Cancer Centre, addressed the gathering about Gynaecological Cancers. She spoke about the symptoms & early detection as well as the latest treatment associated with the deadly disease.
After the awakening session by the Senior Oncologist, Pastry Head Chef Prabhu from Holiday Inn took the gathering on a culinary journey to Alaska. Chef Prabhu demonstrated the preparation of scrumptious Baked Alaska, a dessert food consisting of ice cream and cake topped with browned meringue. This was followed by a Mocktail Mixology Session by Liquid Chef Sarthak where he showcased the tips and tricks to make some of the popular drinks from the ingredients that are readily available at home.

Since our expertise lies in culinary preparation, & Apollo’s being specialized in cancer detection & treatment, we presented this day by sharing our wisdom to the women”, said EAM, Mr Shivram Gangadharan, on behalf of the General Manager, Mr Divakar Shukla who happened to be on official tour.
The event was followed by the lunch at Café G hosted by the hotel’s Food & Beverage Manager, Ms Bawan.
