Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan recently unveiled an initiative to bring a large number of volunteers, cutting across party lines, to help Chennai move from red to green zone in case of COVID-19. Called ‘Naame Theervu’, the actor said the need of the hour is for people to come together and help those in need to win the COVID-19 battle.
Today GV Prakash took to his social media handle to launch the official website for the initiate. He wrote, “Happy to launch the website of #NaameTheervu a unique plan to help people, help each other. Our city needs more helping hands and support right now. Join hands in this and Let’s make chennai green and safe again. @ikamalhaasan @maiamofficial
Stressing the need to rise above politics, Kamal urged people cutting across caste, community, and parties to come together and work. He registered himself as the first volunteer with a call center established by the party for the purpose.
