Gucci is set to make a return to the makeup sector with a new beauty collection designed by creative director Alessandro Michele. The brand will kick things off on May 4 with the launch of a lipstick line.
Beauty fans have been speculating about a major beauty launch for months, ever since the house unveiled a new Instagram account, @guccibeauty, last September. However, rather than focusing on makeup products, the page has so far served to champion works of art and offer followers a closer inspection of the brand’s innovative catwalk beauty looks, creative collaborations, and fragrance campaigns.
Michele’s tenure at the house has seen him shake things up in the beauty department, snapping up Lana Del Rey and Jared Leto to front campaigns for the ‘Gucci Guilty’ fragrances, and overseeing the launch of a new fragrance family, ‘The Alchemist’s Garden,’ earlier this year.
