Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg who was given an award by a Swedish organization is said to be using the prize money to establish an eponymous foundation. The main purpose of this foundation is to promote ecological and social sustainability along with mental health. Greta who is just 17 years old was one of the four recipients of the 2019 Right Livelihood Award that was founded in 1980 with a purpose of honouring and supporting courageous people who solve global problems. She received a cash prize of 1 million kroner. Greta has been nominated for the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize.
She is among the list of people who dedicated funds to battle the impact of climate change. Her parents have stated that Greta has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and hence her activism regarding the climate change is doing good for their daughter’s mental health.
