Around 90 sovereigns of gold was stolen from the house of Ilavarasi a relative of Sasikala. Both of them are currently lodged in a jail in Bengaluru after being convicted in a disproportionate assets case. According to police sources, Ilavarasi’s house is in Mahalingapuram.
As her son had been to Bengaluru with his family to visit her, a security guard from Assam was posted to take care of the house. The driver used to sleep on the terrace. He found the main door broken open one morning and the security guard was missing. He informed the son of Ilavarasi who returned immediately and found the locker broken open and 90 sovereigns of gold jewelry missing.
