People who are lonely on Christmas can walk into Meet and Deep Newsagents in Twickenham, London for hug and a free pie. Owners Shasi and Pallu Patel will wear festive clothes, play carols and handover free mince pies and sweets to anyone who drops in between midday and 2 p.m.
The couple has been keeping their shop open on Christmas for the past 8 years. This year besides providing free cakes and sweets, the couple have hired a DJ to play Christmas songs and have even borrowed a strobe light for the day.
