Pele, a football legend from Brazil has been discharged from hospital after undergoing a surgery for a colon tumour. The 80 year old footballer will continue to undergo chemotherapy according to his medical team.
Pele is happy to be back home and he thanked the entire Albert Einstein Hospital team who made his stay in hospital pleasant and comfortable. He also thanked all his fans for their messages of love which made his life complete.
He is considered to be the greatest footballer of all time and the only player in history to win three World Cups (1958, 1962 and 1970). He scored more than 1,000 goals before retiring in 1977.
Pele has kept a low profile in recent years due to his ill health. A documentary on his life was released on Netflix this year where he can be seen moving slowly with the help of a walker.
