An 18 propellor drone like flying taxi developed by German firm Volocopter will soon revolutionalize travel in choked cities in Asia. They resemble small helicopters and are powered by drone like technology. They can fly autonomously but for the test drive in Singapore, there was a pilot aboard for safety reasons.
It took off from a promontory and flew for about two minutes and thirty seconds around the Marina Bay district. It is powered by a battery. Volocopter has already been tested in Dubai, Helsinki, Germany and Las Vegas. It will be tested in Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, India and China shortly. A commercial roll out is expected in about two to four years.
