The CEO and Chairman of PepsiCo Indra Nooyi has been appointed as the first independent woman director of the International Cricket Council Board. She will take charge in June.She was thrilled to be the first person to be appointed to this role and that too after a unanimous confirmation. She said that she looked forward to work with her colleagues on the board and hoped to give cricket fans across the globe a new reason to follow every ball.
She will be appointed for a two year term and will be eligible for reappointment for another two terms. The ICC Chairman said that the addition of an independent female director is an important step in improving the governance of the ICC.
