A 32 year old woman who was earlier working as a Professor in a college in Arumbakkam was found dead on the college campus yesterday morning. She was identified by the police as Harishanthi, a resident of Ellaiamman Kovil street in Karambakkam, Tiruvallur district. She was employed as an assistant professor in the Telugu Department of the college.
After she got the job of a government school teacher, she quit her job but used to regularly visit the college. She visited the college on Tuesday afternoon and did not leave the campus. She was found hanging from a fan with her wrists cut in one of the classrooms of the Telugu Department. No suicide note was recovered. The Arumbakkam police are investigating the case with the help of forensic experts to see if it was a suicide or murder. Her body has been sent for a post mortem to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.
