It’s that time of the year when you just want to cave into your bed with a hot beverage and something crunchy to munch on. Here are some of the foods you could try to keep you warm and peppy this rainy season:
Hot Chai – nothing beats the comfort of a hot cup of (masala) chai flavoured with elaichi.
Onion bhajias or pakora – these crunchy starters go very well with that masala chai.
Corn on cob – drizzled with salt, chilli powder and lime, roasted corn makes for a great bite as the rain gods pound on your rooftop.
Soup – a hot bowl of tomato or sweet corn soup is perfect for the soul.
Bhel – spicy, tangy, sweet and crunchy. The unique flavours of a bowl of bhel laced with sev, tomatoes, raw mango, onion and potato can beat nothing this season!
