Clothes aren’t going to change the world. Women who wear them will.
WICCI Karnataka Fashion Council have put their best foot forward to create a holistic platform which empowers women who have found themselves in need of help, due to the impending Covid-19 pandemic. Their approach is not to simply provide a prosthetic, but help them resurface by using their own existing skills. The likes of Mahesh Bhupathi and Major Gen. Vikram Dev Dogra have committed and pledged their support to the Gift a Mask campaign cause started by the Council. WICCI Karnataka Fashion Council through gift a mask is also gifting a woman’s dignity, livelihood and a brighter tomorrow.
WICCI Karnataka Fashion Council plans to envisage the success of their Gift a Mask campaign to have a cascading effect and their next campaign “Dress to empower” will be a finishing school where they will inculcate dressing etiquette, profound communication skills and skills to ace interviews, so that women can shine, be self-sufficient and truly empowered. Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries has redefined the term fashion in ways more than one can imagine.
Using the fashion tool to emancipate women, the Council initiates many successful campaigns such as Women Empowerment through Mask Making, Gift a Mask Campaign by collecting reusable masks and gifting them to the vulnerable class of society, Police Drive by safeguarding and gratitude to those who protect us and more.
WICCI – Fashion Council has raised a call to all the citizens of Karnataka to make their own masks at home with their Make your own Mask Masterclass. The campaign also focusses on sanitation and safety measures. By doing so they have empowered every citizen to take charge of protecting themselves, their families and communities. Thus, engaging them in the largest fight of their generation. The campaign has been well appreciated by sports persons, military personnel and personalities like Mahesh Bhupathi, Vikram Dogra etc.
