India is celebrating their 75th Republic Day today, the 26th of January, 2024. The President of France Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest for the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
He announced measures to ensure that more Indian students study in France and hopes to have over 30,000 students by 2030.He stated on X, that though it’s an ambitious target, he is determined to make it happen.
Some measures include developing the network of Alliances francaises and having new centres to learn French and creation of international classes to allow students who do not speak French to join the universities.
The visa process for any former Indian students who studied in France will also be facilitated.
