The 1st Ever Biggest Entertaining Fun Festival “THE BIG PICNIC” was an eclectic mix of food, fashion, music, home decor, art, entertainment, and more- this unique, rustic yet contemporary 2-day festival serves as a perfect blend of retail therapy coupled with fun activities, sumptuous food and of course beautiful people and some great vibes. The Big Picnic @ YMCA grounds, Nandanam happened on March 2nd and 3rd 2019.
The Big Picnic invites you to experience a sense of community and culture with local artists and musicians setting the mood to a perfectly planned evening. We also have Open mic, Karaoke nights, underground bands, dance performances, Dhols, and lots more entertainment. A Silent Theatre where the visitors can enjoy a screening of a film, outdoors under the clear starry sky!

The Silent Theatre we give you headphones and an absolutely serene spot under the starry skies to watch movies with your loved ones. The Big Picnic featured live music performances during the evening, SHAKTHISREE GOPALAN UNPLUGGED on the first day of the festival and THE BEST KEPT SECRET one of India’s most touted young bands – formerly known as One Nite Stand is famous for their unique high-octane “Dance-Rock”.
Over the picnic spot the visitors discovered interesting craft, decor, exclusive kid’s zone and unusual food finds that are exclusive to the big picnic. The icing on the cake is our Unique, one of a kind and definitely the very first time in Chennai. Part of the proceeds from THE BIG PICNIC ticket sales gone to YouCanFreeUs Foundation Which rescues victims out of slavery and commercial sexual exploitation. The Foundation provides these victims with psychosocial care and holistic healing, while also helping them to re-enter society. They also provide their children with residential care, education and quality life. Let’s together make a small difference in their lives.
