Not only does Kamala Harris make history as the first woman and the first black to become the U.S. Vice President, her husband Doug Emhoff will be the first ‘second gentleman’. He is white and they will be the first mixed race couple to occupy their positions.
Both of them are 56 years of age. Emhoff was in fact credited as a “secret weapon” on the campaign trail for Kamala Harris. He has his own following on social media. Emhoff is an accomplished lawyer specialising in media, sports and entertainment law. He was born in Brooklyn and brought up in New Jersey. He obtained his law degree from the University of South California and worked in several law firms before joining DLA Piper. He is an avid golfer too
