Six days after the murder of ex mayor of Tirunelveli, Uma Maheswari, her husband Murugasankaran and their maid, the police have nabbed a DMK functionary’s son from his hideout in Madurai. Karthik alias Karthikeyan is the son of DMK Adhidravidar wing Deputy Secretary Seeniammal.
His car was spotted passing by on a CCTV camera footage collected from a nearby eatery in the area where the triple murder had taken place. The police discovered that there was a cold war between Seeniammal and Uma Maheswari over a few unresolved issues. Seeniammal is currently undergoing treatment in Madurai. She was grilled by a special police team for about 45 minutes and she said that was shocked to hear about the triple murder and that she had nothing to do with it. DMK President Stalin and MP Kanimozhi visited the bereaved family and expressed their displeasure on the prevailing law and order situation in the state.
