Arumugham who posed as a disaster management trainer was arrested for pushing Logeshwari a 19 year old college girl from the second floor of the college building in Coimbatore as part of the disaster preparedness drill. The college mates of Logeshwari put the pushing video on social media and it went viral Logeshwari was selected for jumping from the second floor.
However when her turn came, she panicked and refused to jump.Arumugham after repeatedly asking her to jump, finally pushed her. She sustained serious injuries on her head and neck.She was rushed to the hospital and doctors declared her brought dead. The college administration was pulled up for not getting proper approval for conducting such drills.The Chief Minister has announced compensation of Rs 5 lakhs to be given to the family.Investigations are going on and the college has been closed for three days.
