Pandan Club hosted an exclusive dinner for Consul Generals, Honorary Consuls and other Diplomats through Consular Corps Diplomatique (CCD) on 15th March 2023 at their restaurant located at Star City Hotel in Bazullah Road, T Nagar, Chennai. Given the popularity of the restaurant with diplomatic guests, the founders of India’s first Modern Peranakan restaurant hosted this event for networking.
The evening was a spectacular success with over 40 guests gracing the event. Consul Generals and Honorary Consul Generals of Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, El Salvador, Seychelles, Thailand, Spain, India, Myanmar, France, Iceland, Ireland, Bangladesh, Russia and Mongolia were in attendance.
Masterchef Sashi Cheliah and Big Bandha’s Manoj Padmanaban curated a feast of Singaporean and Asian cuisine for the diplomatic guests. “The dishes come as close as one can hope for shores as far away as Chennai. The Singapore Ice Cream Sandwich brings back a lot of memories. Pandan Club is a fine dining restaurant suitable for families, corporate events, special occasions and day to day indulgence located in Chennai’s shopping district. Serving incredible adaptations of the Peranakan cuisine, expect to enjoy familiar flavours with a twist and unforgettable dishes.
Some of the sumptuous hors d’oeuvres include the famous Modern Nyonya adaptations of the Kueh Pie Tee (Pastry Cups), Lor Bak (Peranakan Spring Roll) and Udang Goreng Rempah (Peranakan Stir Fried Prawn). Guests were also treated to Ikan Bakar (Peranakan Grilled Fish), Buah Keluak (Blacknut Curry), Rendang with Masterchef Cheliah’s signature Roti Jala (Netted Crepe), and flaky Roti Pratas amongst other favourites. The feast ended with generous helpings of the Singapore Ice Cream Sandwich and the Sinfully Chocolate, which the honourable guests thoroughly enjoyed.
Masterchef Sashi Cheliah is also hosting a 5 Course Tasting Menu at Pandan Club that’s inspired by his Masterchef journey from the 16th to 19th of March 2023.
