Shedding lights on some beautiful and unconventional moments while shooting the film, director K Janaki Raman utters, “While the story of this film belongs to a unique panorama, such was the experience while canning the project. It was really a pleasant and enjoyable moment to shoot the film across the busy laden lanes of Yaanai Kavuni that came blended with some experiences of issues and complications. We have shot the film with thousands of dwellers in Yaanai Kavuni and there were times, when few used to barge into the sets asking for money. It’s my first film and I had to get it done smoothly with the budget allotment of producers. Of course, it’s an impeccable nature that every new filmmaker should possess and such bleak scenarios hamper our creativities and work. Maybe, the experienced filmmakers would know the formulae to tackle such complex situations. But for newcomers like us, it’s really a devastating moment and this shouldn’t happen to any others in near future. Directors Union and producers council should definitely intervene into these issues and bring forth a commendable decision in sorting it out. The way of comfortableness should be paved with the associations and unions from film fraternity approaching Government to impose strict rules.
Even we have paid the wholesome bill seeking the permission to shoot in certain locations and why should let ourselves break the laws. But we are privileged to have the residents of this locale offering us best support in letting things go smoothly. Perhaps, this might not happen all the time for other projects shot.
The film has a promising bunch of technicians that include M.C. Ganesh Chandra(Cinematography) of ‘Salim’ fame, Dharan Kumar (Music) of Poda Podi Naaigal Jaakirathai fame, Kuttram Kadithal fame Prem (Art), Yugabharathi (Lyrics) ‘Velai Illa Pattadhaari’ fame M.V. Rajesh Kumar (Editing).
