India’s Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman left for a three day visit to China. The major focus would be to revive India- China relations. During her visit, she will participate in a preparatory meeting for the upcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO).
The SCO Summit will be held in June in the Chinese city of Qingdao and Prime Minister Modi is expected to attend it.Meanwhile Ms,Sitharaman would hold talks with Chinese leaders. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval recently visited China in an attempt to reset ties damaged by last years Doklam standoff. The militaries of both countries are also engaged in reviving the friendly relations they once had.
