Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone visited the Jawaharlal Nehru University and expressed her solidarity with the students who were attacked by an armed mob. She attended a public meeting called by the JNU Teachers Association in response to Sunday’s attack on students and teachers.
Deepika was in the capital to promote her upcoming film “Meghna Gulzar”. She also told a news channel that she felt proud that people have come out and raised their voices against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Register of Citizens. She said that if one wants to see a change in society, it is important to put forth their point of view. She further stated it was nice to see people thinking about the future of the country and that they were not scared to express their opinions.
