A man who had 2 wives, one a Hindu and the other a Christian passed away. Even after his death the feud between the two families did not end. The latest matter in contention was the last rites, whether the body was to be burnt or buried. Both his families approached the police station and the Madras High Court.
The Judge gave the 2 widows a couple of days time to arrive at a compromise and directed the police to dispose of the body in the manner known to law if the two women failed to arrive at a consensus. Meanwhile the body was shifted to the Government hospital mortuary. This is a typical case where even a dead man was not allowed to rest in peace.
