The 65th National Film Awards was held yesterday and more than one third of the recipients stayed away from the ceremony to protest against the President Ram Nath Govind for not giving away all the honours. Some awards were given away by I&B Ministers Smriti Irani and Col Rajyawardhan Rathore.
Only some received their awards from the President. However the ceremony went off peacefully.Actress Sridevi’s award for the best actress was received by her husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Jhanvi and Khushi. This year the ceremony was devoid of performances by any award recipients.
