A 50 year old man and father of 10 children was arrested by the police for sexually assaulting his own daughter. He was repeatedly abusing her from the age of 12. The girl is his third daughter.As the girls mother happens to be mentally retarded, the hapless girl had no one to turn to. Her father used to mix drugs in her food and rape her. He threatened her with dire consequences if she complained about him.When she became pregnant two years ago, he aborted the pregnancy with medicines bought from local medical shops.
He left her alone for two years and tried to rape her again this year but she managed to retaliate this time. She cut her wrist and attempted suicide. After giving her treatment, he tried his stunts again.This time the girl who is now 22 years escaped and managed to lodge a police complaint. The Somangalam police have registered a case and nabbed the accused father .He has been remanded to judicial custody by the Chengalpet Mahila Court.
