Due to heavy rains, the final of the Indian Premier league 2023 between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans could not be held at the Narendra Modi stadium. The match has been postponed to the reserve day. Due to this, thousands of fans who had come to watch the grand finale had to return home disappointed.
Many pictures and videos of CSK fans sleeping on the floor at a nearby railway station have been doing the rounds on social media platforms. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has permitted fans to use the same tickets for the match on the reserve day. Still many decided to stay back rather than return home and get back for the final to be held today, the 29th of May.
Many fans wearing the CSK jersey were waiting to get a glimpse of captain Dhoni before he took the decision to hang up his boots.
This is the first time in the history of IPL that a summit clash had to be moved to the reserve day.
