In a like-minded artist fanfare today, Crowne Plaza Chennai kicked off its festivity today by unveiling its 4 dimensional Christmas Tree commissioned by the Bhagwan Chavan Research Art Foundation (BCRAF). Also earmarking the occasion was the launch of their one-of-a-kind impressionistic art lounge ‘Atelier’ at Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park.
In keeping with the hotel’s tradition of pledging cause-support initiative every festive season; this year Crowne Plaza Chennai started working on the concept of Art Lounge with a vision to provide a showcase platform to the young & budding artist of Chennai – working with impressionistic displays, installations, and canvas art. Atelier is aimed to create much-needed exposure opportunities for the young artist to the discerning art connoisseurs of the city.
14 Feet Art Installation is conceptualized by three generations of Artist Premalatha, Bhagwan Chavan, and Aparajithan Adimoolam associated with BCRAF (Bhagwan Chavan Research Art Foundation) and Cholamandal Artist Village. The Tree is an illusionistic walk-in art piece repurposed from 8 mm Plywood discard, appealing to the childlike enamour of surprise with its morning and evening colour transition, angled views, and towering cut patterns for light reflections.
The event showcased the season’s freshly baked rich plum cakes, Christmas goodies, stolen pieces of bread, and hand-rolled chocolates which the guest can buy as gift hampers from the hotel’s Christmas Chalet sampling suite. The culinary brigade of the hotel also gave a sneak-peek into the art lounge’s tasting menu with some unique small plates, farm-fresh charcuterie, and artisanal smorgasbord with hot canapes.
This Christmas do was attended by VVIP and Celebrities like Actress Bhumika Chawla, Kiki Vijay, Chaitanya Rao, Anita Chandoke along with Chennai’s favourite Fashionistas and Celebrities.
