Former India cricketer Suresh Raina’s father passed away on Sunday, the 6th of February after a battle with cancer. Suresh Raina penned a heartfelt note on social media.
His note stated ”No words can describe the pain of losing a father. Yesterday, on the passing away of my father, I also lost my support system, my pillar of strength. He was a true fighter till his last breath. May you rest in peace Papa. You will forever be missed.”
Raina’s former teammate Harbhajan Singh offered his condolences to Raina.
Raina was part of India’s 2011 World Cup winning team. He played 18 tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20s. He announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15th, 2020.
Raina used to play for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. He has listed himself for a base price of Rs 2 crore and is among the 590 shortlisted players who will be going under the hammer for IPL 2022 auction to be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13.
