Courtyard by Marriott Chennai ushered in the celebration of Christmas with its Christmas tree lighting ceremony with luminaries, media friends, and business partners from the city. This year’s impressive Christmas tree was unique, made from recycled materials such as steel pipes, rubber tyres, and wood which was arduously and innovatively put together as a 25ft structure of a tree. The tree was meticulously worked over a week by our hotel team under the guidance of Chief Engineer, Dinesh Kumar. Once the structure was ready, it was painted in hues of gold and a cascade of lights was decorated.
The event kicked off with a welcome speech from the General Manager, Sanjeev Mandal to the tree lighting followed by the carols sung by our talented associates. Soon after Santa Claus entered with a bag filled with chocolates and gifts which excited the bunch of children. Gourmet Christmas feasting was curated by the Head Chef, Naresh Vadlam for the event, displaying an array of delicacies for high-tea.
A stellar display of festive treats right from ‘Plum Cake’, ‘German Stollen Bread’, ‘Panettone’, ‘Mince Pie’, ‘Dundee Cake’, various ‘cookies’ was laid out for the guests to taste. Curated artisanal hampers are also available for gifting purposes. The evening ended on a high note of revelries to commence the season bright and bring in festive cheer for our guests.
