This day is being observed as Constitution Day as on the 26th of November, 1949, the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly. We also remember the architect of the Indian Constitution Dr.B. R. Ambedkar on this day. The Constitution came into force on the 26th of January 1950.
It declares India to be a “sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic, republic.” Constitution Day was first celebrated in the year 2015 when the government decided to mark the day as a tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Here are a couple of this great man’s quotes. “However good a Constitution may be, if those who are implementing it are not good, it will prove to be bad. However bad a Constitution may be, if those implementing it are good, it will prove to be good.”
