Chennai Police have registered a child labour complaint against actress Bhanupriya for employing and allegedly harassing a minor girl who was employed as her domestic help. The complaint was registered based on the complaint made by the minor girl and her mother with the Andhra Pradesh police.
As actress Bhanupriya is a resident of Chennai, the police had sent a team here for investigation. The actress had given a counter complaint saying that the girl and her mother had stolen her jewels, money and valuables and the Chennai police had recovered the same from them and both were arrested. The minor girl and her mother are lodged in Puzhal prison. However the Child Protection Department has asked the police to take action against Bhanupriya and her brother on the complaint of harassment.
