Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 151st film ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ has been in the making for more than a year. Helmed on a massive budget of Rs 300 crore, the historical-warfare flick is currently undergoing its final stages of the shoot at the Bahmani Castle in Bidar. Along with a special set in the premises, the makers have erected some Hindu idols inside the castle at the place where Muslims worship. While the 7-day schedule all set to get underway, a group of Muslim youth stormed the venue and stalled the shoot.
Fiercely opposing the use of Hindu idols in the Muslim praying area, these protesters complained to the police on the film’s unit and gave an ultimatum to Bidar district officer for the immediate removal of Hindu idols. With no other option, the local cops are in the process of shifting the statues. Surprisingly, the Archaeological department has given its approval to shoot. While the security at the shooting location is expected to get beefed up, Surender Reddy & Co is in the process of finalizing other locations nearby.
The latest we hear is that the shoot has been scheduled in Kokapet area in the outskirts of Hyderabad. A special set has been laid and the shoot will be done for the next two days. Bankrolled by Konidela Productions with Bollywood composer Amit Trivedi doing the music, Sye Raa tells the story of a rebellion leader from Rayalaseema who fights against the British. The first-look posters of Jagapathi Babu, Vijay Sethupathi, Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara, Tamannaah and Kichcha Sudeep have been released on their respective birthdays.
