Chess coach RB Ramesh to be conferred the Dronacharya award

Grandmaster RB Ramesh has earned the esteemed Dronacharya Award, the highest honor in the country for excellence in sports coaching.


Ramesh along with his wife Aarthie founded Chess Gurukul in 1998 an academy to train chess players. This academy has trained prominent chess players like R.Praggnanandhaa, R.Vaishali and Arvind Chidambaram.
The award will be presented to him at a ceremony on January 9th, 2024 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the prestigious award will be conferred on him by President Droupadi Murmu.
Ramesh hopes to make Pragg a world champion in the next two to three years. He enjoys training kids and helps his students to overcome their problems and reach their full potential.
