A Tokyo clothing maker has teamed up with veterinarians to create wearable battery operated fans for pets due to the scorching summer in Japan. The device consists of a battery operated 80 gram fan that can be attached to a mesh outfit and blows air around a pet’s body. Rei Uzawa, of the maternity clothing brand Sweet Mommy said that she was inspired to create a fan after she watched her pet dog struggling to beat the heat.
Japan has been going through a heatwave this year with temperatures around 35 degrees Celsius. Some people use dry ice packs to keep their pets cool but this fan is said to be more efficient. This device came out in July and has already received 100 orders. It comes in 5 different sizes and costs around $74.
