International rapper Cardi B posed as Goddess Durga on the cover of a footwear magazine in its November 2020 issue. It shows her with 10 hands and instead of holding a weapon, she is seen holding a shoe. She was told that the Goddess represents strength and liberation which are very dear to her.
However, this did not go down with netizens who called out the rapper for hurting sentiments. In reply, Cardi B posted a video on Instagram where she explains that it was not her intention to hurt or offend any religion or culture and that she wouldn’t like it if anyone did it to her religion. She said that she can’t change the past but promised to be more cautious in future.
