British Prime Minister Theresa May is all set to resign as the Conservative leader on June 7th in the best interests of the country after she failed to win support from party lawmakers for her strategy for UK’s divorce from the European Union. She will stay on as caretaker Prime Minister until a new incumbent is elected .The second female Prime Minister said that she had enormous gratitude to have had the opportunity to serve the country she loved.
The 62 year old Prime Minister said in an emotional speech outside 10 Downing Street that she had kept the Queen informed of her exit time table. She listed a series of her government’s achievements including tackling deficit, reducing unemployment and boosting funds for mental health. However it is a matter of deep regret that she has not been able to deliver Brexit even though she had done everything in her power.
