Europe’s No.1 Live Act, Dubioza Kolektiv will be touring India in February. The Bosnian band will be on a 5 city tour of India including a headlining slot at SulaFest 2017 in Nashik January, 2017 – Voted as the number 1 live act by European festivals at the 2016 Eurosonic Festival, Dubioza Kolektiv have had quite an eventful year with the World Tour to promote their album, Happy Machine, which has seen the band play in over 50 cities from SXSW in the US to the UK, mainland Europe and Australia. The band will conclude their ’Happy Machine’ World Tour with shows in Bangalore, New Delhi, Nashik, Pune, and Mumbai.
Formed in 2003 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, when the entire region was reeling from deep moral and economic stagnation, no music industry, few concerts, and no space for cultural or political expression, Dubioza Kolektiv created quite a phenomenon by kicking and screaming, presenting no-go topics front and center, and demanding to be heard. Along with local Balkan flavors, musical influences came from all over the world: Ska, Punk, Reggae, Electronic, Hip-Hop and many of Dubioza Kolektiv’s lyrics revolve around themes of peace, understanding and tolerance, alongside an extreme criticism of injustice; but what gives these lyrics weight is that they speak with the authority of direct experience.
The band caught the attention of Faith No More’s Bill Gould who signed Dubioza Kolektiv to his record label, Koolarrow Records which introduced the band to the international stage with worldwide distribution. With 8 albums under their belt along with 2 EPs, combined with the band’s relentless approach to touring, Dubioza Kolektiv have established themselves as among the best and most popular live outfits in Europe. Their latest album, ‘Happy Machine’ sees collaborations with Manu Chao, Benji Webbe, BEE2 with songs in English, Spanish, and Punjabi.
