Nidhi Dugar Kundalia launched her book, ‘The Lost Generation’ at Taj Vivanta, Hyderabad. The book focuses on the 12 vanishing professions of India
The book was launched by Shyam Benegal who said during the launch, “Indian socio cultural setting is much like a palimpsest. Things rarely die here.”
An interesting gathering resulted in rich conversations filled with anecdotes and the audience too was wonderfully engaging.
“The book took one-and-half-years to write and there were quite a many challenges. I had to travel through villages, cities, jump over jungles and forests. Apart from a lot of physical difficulties, there was a problem in finding the translators. India has a new language almost every couple of kilometres. There were a lot of dialects as well. Finding the translators who could help me record without adding too many variations to it was the biggest challenge,” says the young author.
