A couple from different castes who got married were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the Cauvery river. Both the bodies were highly decomposed and were beyond recognition. The Karnataka Police suspect foul play as the hands and legs of both victims were tied with ropes.
The couple was identified as 25 year old Nandesh and his 20 year old wife Swathi. Police investigations revealed that Nandesh a Dalit married a Hindu girl Swathi in August this year in a temple at Shoolagiri. They lived separately in a rented house in Hosur. Police suspect the murder to be one of honour killing and are interrogating the family members of Swathi.
