The Consul-General of Japan, Takayuki Kitagawa hosted the Birthday Celebrations of His Majesty The Emperor of Japan, Emperor Akihito on December 12. The Consul-General was at his affable best as he welcomed his guests to the celebrations on Wednesday night. He spoke about the steps he’s taking to improve the Indo-Japan relations. Japanese singer Kazumasa Kuboki sang a few Kannada songs with so much panache. A few Japanese also joined him and were spotted shaking a leg to some of the peppy Kannada hit songs. Shangri La Hotel pulled out all stops to serve a delectable Japanese spread replete with sushi, sashimi, sake and a Teppanyaki counter.
